The primary objective of the initial phase of the HerForm Erasmus+ Project, was to identify the personal developmental needs of female elite athletes engaged in team sports. Unlike their male counterparts, who often have a well-defined progression from youth to senior high-performance levels, there has been a noticeable gap in research and dedicated personal development programs for female athletes. The prevailing lack of research hinders the effective support of female athletes in their careers and transitions within the high-performance sports realm.
The second work package of HerForm was led by the DSK (Deutsche Sporthochschule Köln), with support from the co-lead of Work Package Two, SACA (South African Cricketer’s Association). The overarching objective of this phase was to pinpoint the personal developmental needs of elite female athletes, laying the scientific groundwork for the subsequent design and implementation of targeted personal development programs.
